Report
Compiled by: Dave
Howley
Introduction: 8.30p.m.
The evening
began with a general introduction given by Dave Howley
on Ghost hunting and the equipment which would be used
during the investigation.
There were many people present who had never
been on an investigation before so it was important
to ensure
that everyone was comfortable with the equipment to
be used.
Following the
introduction Craig Howley carried out a protection exercise
and talked people through how to do this regularly throughout
the evening.
A tour of the
mansion was then given to all members of the group,
pointing out areas where groups would be carrying vigils,
as well as giving some history to the mansion itself.
Vigil One:
9.30
- 10.45 The Cellar
The first area
that my group investigated was the Cellar areas. We began by
walking round each of the Cellar rooms to see if any
of the group could pick up on anything at all.
Every member of the group decided on conducting
a séance in the largest of the Cellar rooms as
everyone agreed that this area felt different to the
other rooms.
After joining hands and going through a protection/visualisation
exercise I began to ask out.
No audible responses were obtained, however everyone
in the group experienced a change in temperature. Some change
is to be expected as the body temperature cools, however,
what I found interesting with this was that people reported
a change to one side or a specific part of the body. This drop in
temperature seemed to make its way around the group. On continuing
to ask out questions some members of the group reported
a feeling of something in the centre of the circle. When asked
to give more details, the group responded by saying
that they felt that they had the uncontrollable urge
to look down - as though looking for a small child. I continued
to ask out for a further 20 - 25 minutes before we closed
down the circle and played back the Dictaphone to see
if anything had been picked up on the tape.
Other than some unexplained taps and noises,
there was nothing conclusive picked up on the Dictaphone
at this part of the investigation.
Everyone
was really starting to feel the cold by this point so
it was decided to go back to the base room before deciding
on the next location.
Vigil Two:
11.00 - 12.00 The Base Room
The group decided
to stay in the base room for the next vigil to watch
the security cameras set up in two of the corridors
of the mansion and for those who felt comfortable to
use the ouija board.
A couple of
the member did not feel comfortable using the ouija
board, so one took down answers as they were spelt out
and the other observed the session and kept an eye on
the CCTV equipment.
Again a protection
exercise was carried out prior to asking questions after
which myself and fellow GPRG member Martyn began asking
questions for the board.
As soon as we
started to get some activity on the board we asked for
a name and was given
Dave
We asked the
board if it had a message for anyone of the group. It then spelt
out:
Mandi
We asked if
the spirit wanted to tell us that they were okay. The answer
received was:
Yes
Mandi felt that
she knew who the spirit was so she asked some control
questions such as:
“Did I know
you when you were alive?” response - Yes
“Did you die
within the last five years?” response - Yes
“Do you want
me to tell your loved ones that you are okay and happy?”
response - Yes
The board also
spelt out some more personal responses to Mandi which
will not be printed as part of this report.
The group then
took a break from the board before going back for another
session on the ouija board.
It
did not take long before the planchette started moving
and this time a personal message started to come through
for James.
However, it was not long before the ouija board
started going to random letters and not making any sense. It was decided
that we would clear the board and end the ouija board
session.
Vigil Three:
12.30 - 1.45 The Second Floor Corridor
The second floor
corridor is a location which has proved to be very active
on past investigations of GPRG and other groups had
already experienced some kind of phenomenon tonight.
As soon as the
group arrived on the second floor they all felt very
uncomfortable.
Other than myself and Martyn, no one knew of
the previous activity we had encountered at this location. The far end
of the corridor which has a second set of stairs leading
down from it was one area that no one wanted to go near. When asked
why, many of the group responded by saying that they
felt extremely uncomfortable at that end of the corridor
and all had the impression that they were being watched
by some unseen presence.
This was the exact location where Chris had had
his experience back in December.
The group congregated
around the opposite end of the corridor and agreed upon
trying another séance.
I made sure
that everyone felt safe and protected before starting
to ask out questions.
Martyn took over asking the questions and other
than the group reporting that they felt they could see
someone standing down the other end of the corridor.
Nothing
to report was encountered during the séance and
before we left this area of the Mansion myself and James
took some photographs of the end of the corridor which
was making everyone feel so uncomfortable. On closer inspection
of one of the photos a face can be clearly seen when
the area is zoomed in on, however simulacra can not
be ruled out for this particular photograph.
Other Areas
3.15 - 5.00
The group spent
time investigating the Chapel and Sacristy, the back
corridor and the kitchen and scullery areas.
A séance
was carried out at each of the areas but nothing note
worthy was to report.
By this time of the morning everyone was really
feeling the cold and tiredness was starting to set in.
The investigation
of the mansion was concluded at approximately 5.30.
Once again,
all groups investigating the mansion had encountered
some type of
phenomenon, whether it can be documented as paranormal
remains to be seen.
